EX- TOGO, BUILT IN 1938 BY BREMER VULKAN SCHIFFBAU & MFBK, VEGESACK. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY ROMEN INC, S.A. PASSAGE TAMPICO FOR BARRANQUILLA. ANCHORS DRAGGED DURING NORTHERLY GALE FORCE WINDS & GROUNDED 8M EAST OF THE COATZALCOALCOS RIVER WHERE HER ENGINE ROOM & HOLDS FLOODED. 2 OF THE 27 CREW DIED. (MSD)THIS VESSEL IS OF HISTORICAL INTEREST IN THAT SHE WAS USED DURING WWII AS AN ARMED SURFACE RAIDER BY THE GERMANS UNDER HER ORIGINAL NAME TOGO. (SEABREEZES, OCT '85).
