24.7.93 EX- EASTERN FRIENDSHIP (1990), EX- YOUNG SOUL (1976) AND EX- GRAND UNION (1975). BUILT 1971 BY ISHIKAWAJIMA HARIMA HEAVY INDUSTRIES, NAGOYA. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY TONY EXPRESS MARINE S.A. PASSAGE CHINA FOR CHITTAGONG FOR MONGLA. DRAGGED HER ANCHORS IN CHITTAGONG ROADS DUE TO STRONG CURRENT AND STORMY WEATHER AND GROUNDED ON 24.7.93. WAS REFLOATED BUT LATER DRIFTED. GROUNDED SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL FINALLY COMING TO REST AT THE UPPER SAWWIP CHANNEL HAVING LOST BOTH ANCHORS, HER HULL CRACKED AND ALL HOLDS FLOODED, WHERE SHE SANK. ALL CREW SAFELY RESCUED. (MTL & MSD).
