Underwater wreck details for the THISTLE located off the coast of Hastings, East Sussex. The wreck of the THISTLE is situated at coordinates 50 50.902 N, 0 34.702 E. Originally reported sunk in 1948 approximately 0.75 miles southwest of the Hastings Harbour red light, the vessel initially showed about 2 feet of mast visible at low water. Historical surveying efforts, including sonar sounding and multi-beam searches, have failed to relocate the obstruction in recent years, leading to the wreck being classified as dead or non-existent in modern records. Despite the initial charting as a dangerous wreck with position approximate (PA), subsequent surveys by HMS Beagle and EGS have been unable to confirm the presence of the structure on the seabed.
