A THAMES BARGE. BUILT OF WOOD. PASSAGE LONDON FOR MALDON. CARGO BRICK RUBBLE FROM BOMBED LONDON BUILDINGS FOR RUNWAY CONSTRUCTON. SPRANG A LEAK AND ANCHORED. WAS TAKEN IN TOW BY THE LIFEBOAT BUT THE TOW PARTED AND SHE ANCHORED AGAIN FOR THE NIGHT. NEXT MORNING THE TOW RECOMMENCED IN A FORCE 10 NW GALE BUT AGAIN THE TOW PARTED. SHE MADE SAIL FOR HARWICH BUT SUDDENLY CAPSIZED. THREE MEN LOST. (SIBI).
