BUILT IN 1960 BY NIPPONKAI, HUKOGYO, YOYAMA. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY SEABEAR NAV CO LTD. PASSAGE PUERTO RICO FOR CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA. CAUGHT FIRE IN ENGINE-ROOM. THE ENGINE-ROOM THEN FLOODED AS A RESULT OF FIRE-FIGHTING OPERATIONS AND THE VESSEL BECAME DISABLED. CREW RECOVERED AND VESSEL SANK. (MSD).
