Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck of the sand sucker Sargia is located off the coast of Calshot Spit near Southampton in the United Kingdom at coordinates 50 48.567 N, 1 18.22 W. Originally sinking in the deep water channel in October 1982 and initially marked by a red can buoy, the wreck of the Sargia was subsequently moved and later beached in shallow water on Calshot Spit to facilitate salvage operations. Following intentions by the owners to scrap the vessel, the wreck of the Sargia, along with all associated buoys, lights, and tackle, was completely removed from the area by August 1983.
