Simplified Wreck Survey
Wreck and underwater obstruction report for the RIV located off the coast of Tripoli, Libya, in the Mediterranean Sea. The site is situated at coordinates 32 54 N, 13 11.533 E. Historical survey records indicate the site was initially identified in 1942 as a wreck. By 1956, the site was surveyed as a group of underwater obstructions. Subsequent maritime surveys in 1958 and 1959 confirmed a cluster of obstructions at depths of 2 fathoms 4 feet, 3 fathoms 3 feet, and 3 fathoms 4 feet. Following a graduation shift correction in 1967, the position was refined to 32 54.002 N, 13 11.46 E. The site was officially deleted from hydrographic records and classified as dead in 1979 based on reports from Sir Bruce White, Wolfe Barry and Partners. This location is no longer considered a navigational hazard.
