Underwater Wreck Summary: REMUS. Located off the coast of Scotland near Copinsay in the North Sea, the wreck of the REMUS lies at coordinates 58 50.591 N, 2 45.393 W. Confirmed via DGPS surveys, the vessel rests in a general water depth of 58.2 meters with a least multibeam depth of 53.14 meters. The wreck is identified as largely intact, measuring 68.6 meters in length, 12.5 meters in width, and standing 4.5 meters high. The structural orientation lies on a 028/208 degree axis with the bows pointing towards 028 degrees. Diver surveys confirm the stern is upright, while the bow section is inverted, featuring two boilers and an engine as the highest points. A scour 1.9 meters deep extends 11 meters toward the northwest, with a noticeable sand buildup to the southeast. The site is noted to have three additional rock outcrops in the immediate vicinity. This site is indexed for maritime research and underwater navigation as a charted wreck at 53 meters depth.
