Historical hydrographic survey records from the UK Hydrographic Office indicate that despite initial reports identifying a wreck at this location, subsequent sonar and multi-beam surveys conducted in 1985 and 2007 failed to locate any underwater obstruction, wreck, or debris at these coordinates. Local reports from fishermen suggest the wreck may be located approximately two miles north of this position, however, the site at 58 46.976 N, 2 50.097 W is considered clear of underwater obstructions.
