BUILT IN 1962 BY ATLAS WERKE AG, BREMEN. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY KIM TRANSPORT LTD. PASSAGE CALLAO FOR TRINDAD. SANK FOLLOWING COLLISION WITH GREEK MV SEA TIDE AT MAMEI CURVE, PANAMA CANAL. ALL TRANSITS HALTED AS WK LAY IN THE NAVIGATION CHANNEL WITH ONLY THE TOPS OF THE MASTS AND FUNNEL SHOWING ABOVE WATER. VESSEL CUT IN TWO AND 1000 TONS OF CARGO DISCHARGED. FOREPART RAISED BY FLOATING CRANE ON 14.9, THEN REMOVED TO DUMPING GROUND SOME 2.5 MILES AWAY. TWO DAYS LATER THE AFTER PART WAS LIFTED AND DUMPED. (MSD).
