17.6.97 VESSEL, ON PASSAGE FROM ORAN TO SOUSS IN BALLAST. SUFFERED CRANKCASE EXPLOSION AND HOT MAIN BEARING. DRIFTED AND LATER ANCHORED. BLOWN ASHORE IN FORCE 9-10 WINDS AFTER ?PORT CABLE BROKE. REFLOATED AND SUPERSTRUCTURE SCRAPPED BETWEEN 7-17.6.97. LATER HULL WAS SUNK ABOUT FIVE MILES OFF THE ALGERIAN COAST. (LLOYDS VOL'S. 307 & 309).
