The underwater wreck ORKLA is located at coordinates 64 24.1 N, 10 26.25 E near Kjerringstavn on the coast. Historical hydrographic survey records detail the sinking and deterioration of the coaster vessel, which originally stranded in 1958. Initial reports noted the wreck as a potential danger in darkness and hazy weather, positioned 450 meters from Saksa Light. Over subsequent years, observations recorded the gradual submersion of the structure, progressing from visible masts in 1964 to sliding off into deeper water, with only a single frame visible at low water by 1965, accompanied by the re-laying of a spar buoy nearby. Chart updates through 1971 marked a dangerous wreck (DW) position, before the site was eventually amended to dead and removed from official navigational charts in December 1997.
