Simplified Wreck Survey
The underwater wreck of the NUNZIATA MADRE is a historic submerged obstruction located in the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Ras Tina in the Gulf of Gabès, Tunisia, at coordinates 34 35.6 N, 10 47.7 E. Hydrographic survey records from the UK Hydrographic Office trace the site back to February 1927, when a dangerous wreck was initially reported approximately 6.43 nautical miles from the Ras Tina Light and marked by a conical buoy. Subsequent surveys updated its minimum depth to 15.0 meters (8 fathoms 1 foot). Additional navigational charts, including French and Italian hydrographic surveys from 1976 and 1987, confirmed the precise location of this 15-meter deep underwater wreck at position 34 35.6 N, 10 47.7 E. Today, the site remains a documented underwater obstruction for marine navigation and maritime history off the coast of North Africa.
