EX-EMPIRE RANCHER '47, EX-SHELLEY '48. BUILT IN 1943 BY J HARKER LTD, KNOTTINGLEY. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY COPPACK BROS & CO. FIVE CYLINDER, TWO STROKE, OIL ENGINE, SINGLE SHAFT. MACHINERY BY CROSSLEY BROS LTD, MANCHESTER. PASSAGE BIRKENHEAD FOR BELFAST. (SII). SANK WHILE UNDER TOW OF BRITISH TANKER OARSMAN. HAD PREVIOUSLY RUN ASHORE IN FOG NEAR TARA, 2M FROM STRANGFORD LOUGH BAR BUOY, BUT WAS REFLOATED. PUMPS UNABLE TO COPE WITH INFLUX OF WATER. (LL).
