VESSEL, BUILT 1959 BY HARLAND & WOLFF LTD, BELFAST. WAS ON PASSAGE FALMOUTH FOR AVILES FOR SCRAPPING & UNDER TOW OF TUG FANELA WHEN TOWLINE BROKE WHILE ENTERING GIJON IN ROUGH SEAS. GROUNDED UNDER CLIFF AT SANTA CATALINA PENINSULA. CANNOT BE REFLOATED AS BROKEN IN TWO, BUT SCRAPPING IN SITU POSSIBLE. (MSD)
