BUILT IN 1972. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY HAPAG-LLOYD AG. PASSAGE ROTTERDAM & BREMERHAVEN FOR SAVANNAH & NEW ORLEANS. CARGO OF 83 BARGES LOADED WITH STEEL AND STEEL PRODUCTS. LAST REPORTED IN DISTRESS IN VERY STORMY WEATHER CONDITIONS ABOUT 450M N OF THE AZORES. THE RADIO MESSAGE WAS ABRUPTLY CUT OFF AND LATER, AFTER AN EXTENSIVE AIR AND SEA SEARCH, ONLY 3 BARGES, EMPTY LIFE RAFTS, LIFE JACKETS AND BELTS WERE LOCATED. THE VESSEL WAS SUBSEQUENTLY POSTED MISSING. (MSD).
