Simplified Wreck Survey
The underwater obstruction known as the Meteorite wreck is located at coordinates 04 23.05 N, 08 20.833 E near the Antan Terminal off the coast of Nigeria. Originally identified as a sunken oil rig, later surveys confirmed the obstruction is an upturned 3-legged jack-up barge. The structure is significant, with the three legs projecting approximately 14 meters above the water surface. These steel legs are approximately 80cm in diameter. The wreck is currently unlit, and there is no longer a navigational buoy located to the east of the site. Mariners should be aware of this steel obstruction in the vicinity of the Antan Terminal.
