Circumstances of loss

VESSEL, BUILT 1961, WHILST EN-ROUTE FROM LAS PALMAS TO LAGOS, RAN AGROUND NEAR DAKAR. WITH HER CONDITION DETERIORATING, THE SENEGALESE AUTHORITIES HAD THE WRECK TOWED OUT TO DEEP WATER AND SUNK DURING EARLY 1984. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY CHINESE COMPANIA MARITIMA S.A. (MSD).
