VESSEL, BUILT 1967, WAS 5 HOURS OUT FROM VIGO, EN ROUTE TO SOUTH AFRICA, WHEN AN EXPLOSION OCCURRED IN ENGINE ROOM DURING HEAVY STORM 4M W OF CABO SILLEIRO. WITH ENGINES OUT OF ORDER, THE VESSEL WAS THEN DRIVEN ONTO ROCKS NEAR CIES ISLAND, WHERE SHE BROKE UP & SANK IN HIGH WINDS. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY ALVAREZ ENTRENA S.A. (MSD).
