The shipwreck tentatively identified as the German patrol vessel La Marie Simone lies submerged off the coast of Brittany, France, in the Atlantic waters of the Bay of Audierne. Positioned at coordinates 47 59.405 N, 4 33.003 W (WGS84), the underwater obstruction rests in general seabed depths ranging from 17 to 20 meters, with a recorded least depth of 12.8 to 13.3 meters measured by echo sounder. First reported in 1951 through French hydrographic notices, the site underwent detailed surveys by the French Hydrographic Office (SHOM reference 14574007) and was examined directly by divers in 1990, who narrowed the positional accuracy to within 20 meters and associated the site with the patrol vessel. Formally adopted on modern navigation charts, including French Chart 7147, this historic saltwater wreck remains an accurately charted maritime feature along the Finistère coastline.
