6.4.70 BUILT IN 1922. REQUISTIONED BY THE MINISTRY OF WAR TRANSPORT FROM THE BRITISH INDIA STEAM NAVIGATION CO LTD.. PASSAGE MOMBASA FOR COLOMBO. TORPEDOED & SUNK BY JAPANESE SUBMARINE I-27. SANK IN LESS THAN 2 MINUTES WITH ONLY 200 SURVIVORS OF THE 1514 ON BOARD. (DODS, WW2SL, LL WW2, AXIS SUBMARINE SUCCESSES & TELECON LLOYDS/WRECKS SECTION, 6.4.70).
