CAUGHT FIRE IN NO.3 HOLD, CONTAINING 230TONS OF COTTON & CHEMICAL FERTILIZER, MOSTLY PHOSPHATE, ENTERED MILAZZO HBR. TOWED OUT & BEACHED 0.5M FROM OIL REFINERY. VESSEL STILL BURNING, HOLDS FLOODED. ONE CREWMAN DIED. DECLARED A CONSTRUCTIVE TOTAL LOSS. (MSD & LL).
