The shipwreck JAMES RUSSELL LOVELL is located at coordinates 41 26.6 N, 12 38.233 E near Genoa. Historical hydrographic survey records show the wreck was initially towed in November 1953 to a position 180 meters from the mole head light in Genoa. It was later charted as a fixed red light on Italian nautical chart 98 before being officially recorded as salved, lifted, and deleted from navigational charts in December 1956.
