HMS Woodpecker is an underwater shipwreck located off the southwest coast of the United Kingdom in the Atlantic approaches near the English Channel and the southwestern approaches to the British Isles at the official coordinates 49 51.469 N, 6 46.985 W. Originally reported in 1969 and subsequently surveyed in August 1989 using advanced positioning systems including Syledis and Hyperfix, this submerged obstruction lies in a general seabed depth of 104 meters with a least echo sounder depth of 97 meters. The wreck structure measures approximately 63 meters in height, 65 meters in length, and 12 meters in width, oriented on a 100 to 280-degree heading with its highest point located at the eastern end and showing no surrounding seabed scour.
