HMS Vixen is a historic underwater shipwreck located off Daniel\'s Head in Bermuda, within the Atlantic Ocean, at the precise coordinates 32 18.356 N, 64 53.136 W. Originally reported as a stranded wreck in 1946 and confirmed in 1959, the remains of HMS Vixen lie across the old Chubb Cut channel in 10.7 meters of water. The bow is exposed with a westerly heading. The site is protected by a circular restricted area with a radius of 100 meters, where fishing and anchoring are strictly prohibited.

Circumstances of loss

THOUGHT TO HAVE BEEN SCUTTLED, PROBABLY IN 1896, TO BLOCK THE CHUBB CUT CHANNEL. HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN USED AS A HULK, AFTER REMOVAL OF ALL MASTS AND RIGGING, FOR HOUSING DOKYARD LABOURERS. WAS THE FIRST TWIN SCREW AND THE FIRST 'COMPOSITE' VESSEL IN THE ROYAL NAVY. (SRN).
