HAS BEEN POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED BY STERN MARKINGS. GENERAL CONDITION OF HULL IS VERY GOOD, SUPERSTRUCTURE SHOWS ADVANCED DECAY. SCATTERED DEBRIS EXTEND SOME 50MTRS W. CINC REQUESTED. SANK FOLLOWING A COLLISION WITH HMS CAMPERDOWN DURING MANOEUVRES FOLLOWING AN ERRONEOUS ORDER FROM THE CINC, VICE ADMIRAL SIR GEORGE TYSON, KCB. (THE 'GRIDIRON' MANOEUVRE, BUT COLUMNS WERE TOO CLOSE). SANK IN 10.5 MINUTES. 358 LIVES LOST INCLUDING THE ADMIRAL. (DODS).
