Simplified Wreck Survey

HMS St Briac is an officially surveyed shipwreck located in the North Sea off the east coast of Scotland at coordinates 56 33.045 N, 1 33.69 W. Examined using DGPS, the site lies in a general water depth of 58 meters with a least multibeam depth of 51 meters. The wreck measures 115 meters in length, 23.3 meters in width, and 7 meters in height, resting upright on the seabed and broken into two distinct pieces oriented in a 145/325 degree direction with its bows pointing northwest. A scour measuring 2.7 meters deep extends 10 meters towards 330 degrees, alongside a debris field stretching 27 meters to the east. Formally identified as the HMS St Briac following a diver investigation and bell recovery in January 2009, this historic North Sea underwater obstruction is officially charted as a submerged wreck.
