Simplified Wreck Survey
The shipwreck of HMS Rhododendron is located in the North Sea at coordinates 59 33.2 N, 2 35.783 W. This underwater obstruction sits at a depth of 83.5 meters in an area with a general seabed depth of 87 meters. Survey data indicates the wreck is 42 meters long, 8 meters wide, and stands 4.1 meters high above the seafloor. The vessel is oriented along a 150/330 degree axis and is described as being intact and likely in an upright position. The site is partially buried by an adjacent sandwave that rises 6 to 8 meters above the surrounding seabed. No scouring has been observed around the structure. The identity of this wreck as HMS Rhododendron was confirmed following research and site analysis.

NE 1119. 17.8.10 RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS WRECK COULD BE HMS RHODODENDRON. WK WILL BE DIVED DURING 2011. CINC REQUESTED. (K HEATH, E-MAILS DTD 22.6.10 & TELECON 17.8.10). NCA, IDENTITY ADDED. 29.2.12 CINC DELETED. (K HEATH, TELECON).
