Simplified Wreck Survey

The underwater obstruction known as CM6, located at coordinates 59 30.396 N, 2 51.891 W off the coast of the Orkney Islands, Scotland, is officially classified as a dead and disproved site. Originally identified following unsuccessful attempts to recover current meter moorings in September 1985, the site was investigated by Gardline Surveys. While initially charted as a feature, subsequent hydrographic surveys conducted in May 2006 failed to locate any remnants of the structural wreckage or moorings at the reported position. Consequently, the obstruction has been removed from active navigation charts and is now categorized as disproved and non-existent. Mariners should note that this specific location near the Orkney coast is clear of the previously reported underwater hazards.
