Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreckage of HMS Recepto is historically listed at coordinates 54 39.008 N, 1 2.599 W off the coast of North East England in the North Sea. While early nautical charts including BA 2567 initially recorded the vessel at this position, a comprehensive data reassessment in 1989 identified the wreckage location further afield at 54 40.380 N, 1 08.180 W. Subsequent high-resolution multibeam sonar surveys conducted between 2017 and 2018 by Clinton Marine Survey failed to detect any remains of the vessel at the original site, resulting in a status of No Feature Added (NFA). Consequently, the original chart entry for HMS Recepto at 54 39.008 N, 1 2.599 W has been amended to dead, indicating the obstruction no longer exists at those specific coordinates.
