VESSEL, BUILT 1942 BY HAWTHORN, LESLIE. HIT & BADLY DAMAGED WHEN ENGAGED AGAINST ITALIAN DESTROYERS OFF THE W COAST OF SICILY. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE HER IN TOW, SO SHE WAS SUNK BY SHIPS IN COMPANY. 10 MEN WERE LOST. (DODS).
