BUILT 1895 BY PORTSMOUTH DOCKYARD WITH TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINES OF 12,000IHP CAPABLE OF 17.9 KNOTS. WAS SUNK BY TWO TORPEDOES FROM U-21, WHILST AT ANCHOR OFF CAPE HELLES. VESSEL CAPSIZED & SANK WITHIN 7 MINUTES, ABOUT 40 CREW WERE LOST. (DODS).
