BR STD. 30.7.68 REPD THAT WK CLEARED TO LEAST DEPTH 9FMS 3FT. IDENTIFIED AS HMS JERSEY. (NAVAL NEWS SUMMARY 1968). NCA YET. H2752/58 8.9.69 SALVAGE WORK BEING CARRIED OUT BY RFA'S 'LAYBURN' & 'SEA SALVOR'. COMPLETION NOT EXPECTED BEFORE 1970. (EXP. ORDNANCE DISPOSAL OFFICER, HMS ST ANGELO). NO OBSTN WITHIN WKGE AREA STANDS MORE THAN 6FT ABOVE SEABED. (MALTA CLEARANCE DIVING TEAM, DTD 8.1.69). H374/47 20.8.71 ONLY SMALL AMOUNT DISPERSED WRECKAGE EXISTS. HIGHEST POINT ABOUT 10FT ABOVE SEABED. LARGEST SINGLE PART REMAINING IS A GUN MOUNTING. OTHER ARTIFACTS FOUND INCLUDE CARTRIDGES, UNIFORM BUTTONS, ETC. ALSO LARGE AMOUNT ANTI-SUB NETTING ON SEABED. (SUB-MARINE WORK (FALMOUTH) 1970). 22.4.76 EUR POSN: 355405.5N, 143127E. NC 974. H1310/84/11 3.4.84 VISIBLE WRECKAGE NOW LIMITED DUE BUILD-UP OF SAND, BUT ONE SECTION STILL STANDS SOME 10FT ABOVE SEABED. BOILER & OTHER ENGINE ROOM REMAINS ARE TO BE SEEN & WHAT APPEARS TO BE A TORPEDO JAMMED UNDER WKGE NEAR BOILER. NO ANTI-SUB NETTING SEEN, BUT RUST MARKS IN SAND INDICATE THAT IT MAY NOW BE COVERED. VISIBILITY AT TIME OF DIVE 30-40FT. (G.J. UNDERWOOD, DTD 14.3.84). H1282/86/97 19.3.86 REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN CLEARED DURING RECOVERY OPS IN 1985. (A SAMMUT, DTD 9.3.86). NCA YET.
