VESSEL, BUILT 1940, TOOK PART IN THE LANDING OPERATIONS AT ALGIERS AND FELL VICTIM TO THE BOMBS OF FRENCH AIRCRAFT AND SANK. FOUR OFFICERS AND 104 RATINGS WERE KILLED. (DODS).VESSEL THOUGHT TO HAVE BEEN TORPEDOED BY ITALIAN AIRCRAFT. (WARSHIP LOSSES WWII).VESSEL BUILT NOVEMBER 1940 BY FURNESS SB CO.. SUNK BY ITALIAN AIRCRAFT. (COLLEGE).
