VESSEL, BUILT 1941 BY CAMMELL LAIRD, AS A 'HUNT' CLASS [TYPE III] ESCORT DESTROYER WAS THE 67TH AND LAST RN DESTROYER TO BE LOST IN THE MEDITERRANEAN. WHEN RETURNING FROM BOMBARDING A GERMAN-HELD ISLAND OFF FIUME IN THE N ADRIATIC, SHE WAS MINED AND SANK NW OF ZARA OR 45M SE OF POLA. FIVE OFFICERS & 116 RATINGS KILLED, 63 MEN RESCUED BY HMS ATHERSTONE. (DODS).
