BUILT IN 1940 BY JOHN BROWN. THREE DRUM BOILERS, TURBINE ENGINES OF 19,000 SHP FOR 27KTS. WHILST ENGAGED IN 'OPERATION VIGOROUS' ATTEMPTING TO TAKE A CONVOY FROM ALEXANDRIA TO MALTA, THE VESSEL WAS DAMAGED IN AN AIR ATTACK. SHE WAS LATER SUNK BY A SHIP IN COMPANY. 44 MEN LOST. (BRITAIN'S SEA WAR & DODS).
