The vessel was originally reported on fire on May 23, 1977, while positioned near Arrecife, Lanzarote. After being abandoned by its crew, the ship subsequently sank on September 5, 1977. Salvage operations were deemed unsuccessful, leaving the wreck as a permanent submerged feature at this location.
