Simplified Wreck Survey

Historical UK Hydrographic Office survey data for the underwater wreck known as GULF RAKI located at coordinates 25 11 N, 63 18 E. Initial reports from May 1973 recorded a vessel grounded heading 295 degrees before being charted as a PA position obstruction near the Pakistan coast in the Arabian Sea. Subsequent hydrographic surveys in October 1985 confirmed the wreck no longer exists in its charted position and it has since been deleted from official nautical charts.

BUILT IN 1952 BY SCHIFFB. UNTERWESER, BREMERHAVEN. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY FIVE TRUST SHIPPING CO, S.A. PASSAGE GWADUR FOR KARACHI. RAN AGROUND DUE TO ENGINE FAILURE. ABANDONED AS A CONSTRUCTIVE TOTAL LOSS. (MSD).
