Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck of the Goliath is located off the coast of Hartland Point in the UK at coordinates 50 57.697 N, 4 32.3 W. Historical records show the vessel ran aground approximately 5 miles south of Hartland Point on April 8 1969. Initial reports indicated very little of the structure remained. Later surveys from September 1970 noted the wreck was broken into 2 pieces near the high water mark, with the iron superstructure lying to the north and hull ballast boxes to the south. During a 2011 survey, the wreck was not located as it was inshore of the survey cover and not visible on satellite imagery against the bare rock foreshore leading to its classification as dead and non dangerous.
