Simplified Wreck Survey
The underwater wreck identified as GARBI is located at coordinates 27 5 N, 13 29.933 W off the coast of Western Sahara in the Atlantic Ocean. This underwater obstruction has a complex survey history documented by the UK Hydrographic Office. Initially reported as a dangerous wreck or non-dangerous wreck in varying positions near 27 05 N, 13 30 W, the wreck was later recorded on Spanish nautical charts including Spanish 50C, 908, and 5B. By 1999, survey data classified the site as a wreck with a depth of 20 meters. While subsequent surveys in 2006 noted the absence of the GARBI on certain editions of Spanish chart 60, it remains charted on others. The site is currently maintained in maritime records as a navigational obstruction that requires caution until formally removed from all larger-scale nautical charts.
