The site was identified after the Danish trawler Jette Kristine fouled the wreckage and sustained gear damage on August 14, 1973. Originally reported as a dangerous wreck, subsequent hydrographic record reviews reclassified the site as a non-dangerous wreck with a position approximate (NDW PA). The obstruction is categorized as a submerged maritime hazard situated within the busy shipping and fishing lanes of the North Sea.
