The historical wreck site was originally reported in 60 to 70 feet of water at low water springs in waters near Berwick, though subsequent hydrographic surveys in 2002 and 2021 by Gardline and Meritaito failed to locate the obstruction in multibeam sonar datasets, resulting in the wreck being classified as dead and not found.
