MID-ENGINED SS, REASONABLY INTACT, THE HIGHEST POINT IS THE ENGINE AND BOILER. LIES OF S SIDE OF SLIGHT RISE IN SEABED. CAN ONLY BE DIVED AT SLACK WATER. (P MOIR, EMAIL DTD 8.9.14). NCA.

BUILT OF IRON IN 1860. ONE BOILER, COMPOUND EXPANSION ENGINE, SINGLE SHAFT. STRANDED IN SSE FORCE 9 WITH LOSS OF ALL 22 CREW & 42 PASSENGERS. (SIBI). PASSAGE GLASGOW FOR LONDONDERRY. ENCOUNTERED HURRICAN-FORCE SE WINDS OFF RATHLIN AND TURNED BACK FOR SHELTER OFF THE WEST SIDE OF KINTYRE. APPARENLY RAN ONTO THE SKERRINAGAL REEF BUT FLOATED OFF AND FOUNDERED OFFSHORE. (P MOIR).
