Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck ELVISCOT is located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the coast of Italy at coordinates 42 44.533 N, 10 7.217 E. This underwater obstruction sits in a North to South orientation with its bow resting on rocks and the stern embedded in sand at a depth of 35 feet. The wreckage remains largely intact as one piece, though it is leaning to the starboard side with a significant hole identified in the bottom amidships. While the propeller and rudder are buried in the seabed, the bow section of the ELVISCOT has historically risen well clear of the water. Please note that this wreck is recorded as a navigational hazard for maritime traffic in the region.

VESSEL, BUILT 1960 BY SCHPS. GEBR. V. DIEPEN, WATERHUIZEN. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY LAVINIA ANTONIO SCOTTO. ON PASSAGE FROM TARANTO TO MARSEILLES. RAN AGROUND OFF POMONTE, ELBA ISLAND. MASTER AND SEVEN CREW ABANDONED THE VESSEL. (MSD).
