BUILT IN 1967 BY ZOVODY TAZHEHO, STOJARSTVA, KOMARBO, CZECHOSLAVAKIA. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY VORTIKA. PASSAGE KLAIPEDA, LITHUANIA FOR CANNES. TOOK WATER INTO NO 1 HOLD IN HEAVY WEATHER AND LATER SANK. CREW OF 11 RECOVERED. CARGO REPD TO BE 1378 TONS OF AMMONIUM NITRATE IN 766 LARGE BAGS, EACH OF WHICH CONTAINED 36 POLYTHENE BAGS. DECISION TAKEN BY NETH AUTHORITIES NOT TO REMOVE VESSEL IN NEAR FUTURE AS LYING SO DEEP DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A HAZARD TO SHIPPING. (LL & MSD).
