Simplified Wreck Survey

Shipwreck EKO is located at coordinates 33 16.541 N, 35 11.867 E in the Mediterranean Sea near the coast of Lebanon at the entrance to the port of Sour. The stranded wreck has a length of about 48 meters, lies in a general depth of 4 to 6 meters, with a least depth over the obstruction of 3.6 meters where the bow and stern sections remain visible.

30.10.76 ONE OF FOUR CARGO VESSELS BLOWN UP BY CHRISTIAN RIGHT-WING COMMANDO UNITS WITHIN A MONTH. THE OTHER THREE WERE GREEK MV RIRI, MV SPIRO & CYPRIOT MV TINA, ALL OF WHICH WERE LATER REFLOATED. (LL 26, 30.10.76; 3.11.76, 19.7.77).
