This underwater obstruction represents a significant shipwreck situated in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean north of Georgetown. Historical survey data from the UK Hydrographic Office confirms the Eastern Sword was examined by HMS Vidal. The wreckage is approximately 400 feet long and lies in a general water depth of 62 feet. Detailed seabed surveys report the surrounding floor consists of grey mud with a current flow of up to 2 knots between the west and northwest. The site is subject to a constant 4-foot swell which impacts diving visibility and underwater clearance depths. The obstruction was swept clear at 16 feet and confirmed foul at 20 feet, with a recorded least echo sounder depth of 26 feet.
