Circumstances of loss

BUILT IN ?SHORHAM OF CONCRETE. ORDERED AS CT35 IN 1917. DISMANTLED 1934. AFTER SHORT MILITARY CAREER WAS BOUGHT BY SMITH'S DOCK AND USED AS A TUG ON MERSEYSIDE UNLIT 1935 WHEN THE COMPANY MOVED WHITBY. USED BRIEFLY AS A FISHERMAN'S STORE, LATER MADE WATERTIGHT AND TOWED OUT TO BE SCUTTLED IN DEEP WATER. BEGAN TAKING IN WATER AND WAS BEACHED OFF SCAUR. (VARIOUS, VIA S CANT).
