Simplified Wreck Survey

The Count D'Aspremont shipwreck is located off the coast of Pembrokeshire, Wales, near Horse Rock at the coordinates 51 52.3 N, 5 19.263 W. This underwater wreck is a historically significant site identified in 1970 and subsequently explored by divers. Structural surveys describe the vessel as being well broken up and lying upside down in rocky seabed gullies. Despite the deterioration of the hull, the boiler remains intact, standing approximately 3 meters high within an average water depth of 25 meters. While earlier survey reports confirm the identity and physical state of the wreckage, recent attempts to locate the site via multibeam sonar have been unsuccessful due to the rugged, rocky nature of the surrounding seabed.

ONE BOILER, COMPOUND EXPANSION ENGINE, SINGLE SHAFT. PASSAGE DUBLIN FOR NEWPORT. STRUCK HORSE ROCK THEN SLIPPED OFF AND SANK IN DEEP WATER. NO LIVES LOST. (LLOYDS).
