Circumstances of loss

1.2.1915 BUILT IN 1889. HIRED FROM 1.2.1915. ONE BOILER, TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE, SINGLE SHAFT. WAS ON PATROL WITH HMS SARAH ALICE AND SIGNALLED THE LATTER TO STOP TO SPEAK. SARAH ALICE WAS STRUCK BY A TORPEDO FIRED BY U-52 WHICH HAD BEEN AIMED AT CONQUEROR. AS CONQUEROR LOWERED BOATS TO RECOVER SURVIVORS, SHE WAS ALSO TORPEDOED. (SIBI).
